Catherine J. Lindstrom

September 6, 1937 — July 3, 2021

SUTTON - Catherine J. Lindstrom, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday July 3, 2021.

Catherine was born on September 6, 1937, one of seven children of the late William and Olive Constantine of Spencer MA. She graduated from David Prouty High School, in Spencer MA, Class of 1955.

She had recently lost her husband of 61 years, Roy W. Lindstrom and tragically endured the loss of her beloved son, Billy (William A. Lindstrom) in a car accident in 1979.

She is also pre-deceased by sister Gladys Walker and brother Wendell Constantine.

Catherine is survived by her brother Harold Constantine and his wife Joan of Spencer; her sister Fran Duquette and her husband Leo of Wells, ME; her sister Lyn Bouley and her husband Robert of Spencer; and her sister Lois Sargent of Yarmouthport.

She also leaves many nieces and nephews who remember fondly the days spent on Manchaug Pond with Aunt Kate and Uncle Roy.

After the loss of her son, Kate found consolation by devoting herself to the care of others. She volunteered at Sunshine Haven, a pediatric nursing facility, where she cared for special needs babies. She was also the caregiver for several children of friends in Sutton.

Early on in her life, Catherine worked for State Mutual in Worcester and later worked for the dental office of Dr. Morris and then for Dr. Balian.

There was no place Kate loved more than Manchaug Pond. Many summer days you could find her on her catamaran skimming the lake's surface with dogs Chip and Tater. She loved the Arts including museums, the opera and symphony. In later years she cherished the moments sitting with her kitty Freya and puppy Lily Belle. Friends and family could always be found sitting with her in her breezeway watching the birds' flitter and dance among the array of feeders she set out for them.

Catherine was the very definition of beauty and grace, quick witted, with a brilliant sense of humor and an easy laugh. She earned the devotion of her friends through her relentless kindness.

During her lifetime Catherine supported the Pan Mass Challenge bike ride and its mission in support of Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Memorial donations can be made to to PMC Groundhog Express Team (TG0075) https://egifts.pmc.org/TG0075 at 77 Fourth Avenue, Needham, MA 02494.

A graveside ceremony will be held for Catherine on July 16, 2021 at 10am, West Sutton Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Lindquist-Lundin and Fay Life Celebration Home, 36 Butler St., Worcester.
