WORCESTER, MA- Cecile E. (Bellerose) Cormier, 85, a long time resident of Worcester died Thursday, April 22 in Abington, PA.
She was born in Worcester in 1924, the daughter of Ida E. (Blanchard) and Wilfrid R. Bellerose. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William E. Cormier and her brother, Wilfred Bellerose. She is survived by her only son, William and his wife Pamela (Parker) of Harleysville, PA and her three grandchildren, Kristin Robinson of Oak Hill, VA, Keith Cormier of Jeffersonville, PA, Andrew Cormier of Bethlehem, PA. and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Robinson and Connor Cormier. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, in particular, Donna (Cormier) Gagnon who spent many of her formative years in the Cormier household.
She graduated from St. Peter's High School and besides attending to the needs of her family eventually became an office supervisor for Norton Company. After retiring, she became very active in AARP, becoming treasurer of the Worcester chapter but more importantly, organizing trips, telling jokes and engaging all in lively conversation. She continued these activities during her stay at Artman Lutheran Home in Ambler, PA.
Visiting Hours are Sunday, April 25, from 5 to 8 pm at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 26 at 10:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June St. Donations can be made in her name to Artman Lutheran Home, 250 N.
