Charlene Martha Agurkis, 79, of East Wareham, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Worcester after a long illness.
Born on October 16, 1945, in Worcester, Charlene was the only daughter of the late Winnifred Walker. On August 16, 1966, she married the love of her life, John Richard Agurkis. Together, they made their home in West Boylston for many years before moving to Sandwich and most recently, East Wareham.

Beyond her career, Charlene was an excellent cook, making an art out of preparing meals for her loved ones. She was known for her exceptional ability to cook lobster in a variety of ways and loved sharing her recipes with family and friends. She was kind-hearted, had a passion for shopping, could make a mean Mai Tai, adored the beaches of Cape Cod and Friday nights out playing Keno with her husband, and was known to go roller skating with her sons in her younger years.
Charlene is survived by her husband of 59 years, John “Richie” Agurkis; her two sons, Jeffrey C. Agurkis and his partner, Jennifer K. Quinn, Christopher M. Agurkis and his wife, Alysia Lehneman; and her granddaughters, Kayla and Haleigh.
