Charlene A Griffin, 61, of Holden passed away peacefully on March 19th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was a dedicated wife and mother that will be missed deeply by many.
Charlene was born on May 15, 1963, in Worcester, daughter of the late Lorraine (Guertin) and Charles R Favreault, Jr.
Charlene graduated from South High Community School and Quinsigamond Community College. Over the last few decades Charlene worked in financial services for BNY Mellon. Above all, she spent and cherished most of her time with her husband and children making her house a home, “Britney Beach”.
Char was an avid traveler and was happiest spending time with family and friends at the Cape. Her fierce sense of humor, tenacity, timeless wit, and expert advice are things she’ll be remembered for most. Give her a beach sunset, slice of key lime pie, a shot of limoncello, and that would be her idea of a rockin’ good time.
She leaves behind her devoted husband Joseph D Griffin with whom she would have celebrated 39 years of marriage this September; and two children: Daniel J Griffin and Kalene M Champlin and son-in-law Nicholas Champlin of Holden; two sisters Mary Reardon (Jack Reardon) of Cotuit, and Amy Benoit (Dan Benoit) of Rutland; two sisters-in-law Kathleen Griffin of Arlington MA, and Sheila Griffin of Osterville, and brother-in-law James Griffin of Worcester; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded by sister-in-law Maureen Griffin.
The family would like to thank the many nurses, friends, and family who cared for her throughout her three and a half year battle with cancer, along with a special thank you to Sheila Griffin who spent countless weeks at her bedside.
Family and friends are welcomed to a celebration of Charlene’s life with visiting hours on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, located at 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.
