Charles V. Carey, Jr. 82, of 3 Redemption Rock Tr. Died Wednesday, April 19 in the Jewish Healthcare Center.
His first wife Josephine M. (Savro) Carey died in 1999. His second wife Elizabeth A. (Mullen) Carey died in 1988. He leaves seven children, Maureen A. and her husband William Jones of Holden, Barbara M. Loughnane of Auburn, Shirlene R. and her husband Raymond McGrath of East Dennis, Patrick Q. Carey of Rumford, RI, Michael J. and his wife Diana Carey of Sterling, Kimberly R. and her husband Robert Carlson of Rutland and BethAnn and her husband Jamie Piuze of Rutland; a sister; Beverly and her husband Edward Whiterall of Webster; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son, Charles V. Carey III died in 1967. He was born in Worcester, son of Charles V. Sr. and Clarabelle (Perry) Carey and was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
He was a baker and salesman for many years, before retiring. He was a member of Hiram O. Taylor, American Legion Post %23189 and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Ann Church and enjoyed doing volunteer work.
The funeral will be held Monday, April 24, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St., W. Boylston with a Mass at 11am Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St.-Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. Burial will be in High Plains Cemetery, Oakdale. Visiting hours are Sunday, April 23, from 2 to 4pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, the Jewish Healthcare, Hospice 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, 01609.
