PEABODY/WEST BOYLSTON
Charles DiPietro, a resident of Peabody for five years and formerly of West Boylston, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019 in his home. He had his wife of 80 years, Anna and their children by his side. Mr. DiPietro celebrated his 101st birthday on May 30th of this year.
He was born in Readville, MA, son of Italian immigrants Angelo and Adeline (Antonucci) DiPietro. He was owner of General Plating Company. Charles founded Camp Woodhaven in West Boylston over 60 years ago on land that was part of his father's dairy farm. He was a member of Christian Assembly Church for many years.
Mr. DiPietro will be dearly missed by his wife Anna (DeMarco) DiPietro, three daughters, Elizabeth Cavallaro, Jeanne DeTellis and Karen Legrow, nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, William and Guido DiPietro and a sister, Lidia Valentino. Charles was predeceased by his brother John and three sisters, Freda, Myrna and Eva.
A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 14th in the Chapel at Camp Woodhaven, 55 Campground Road, West Boylston. A visiting period will begin at 10:00 followed by a Funeral Service which will begin at 10:30am. The family would like to invite everyone to stay for refreshments immediately following the Service. It will be a time to continue celebrating Charles' life with his family. Burial will then follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery at 2:00pm.
