Worcester: Charles E. Martin, III, 84 of Worcester died Tuesday, February 21 in Life Care Center in Auburn after an illness.

   He leaves his wife of 63 years, Joan A. (Kelliher) Martin,  two daughters; Susan Diggins and her husband John of Worcester and Kathleen Cove and her husband Steven of Worcester, two sons; Daniel E. Martin and his wife Kelley of North Oxford and Chuck Martin and his wife Erin of North Oxford,  eight grandchildren; Steven Cove, Jennifer Acevedo, Randy Martin, Katie Cove, DJ Martin, Sean Martin, Justin Martin & Kassidy Martin, two great granddaughters; Jayden Cove & Mila Martin, a sister Patricia Monast of Northbridge and a brother-in-law Robert Frick of Quaboag, CT and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister Jane Frick, a brother William Martin and a sister-in-law Donna Martin.

   Charles was born in Worcester, son of Charles E. Martin, Jr. and Beatrice (Leofanti) Martin.  Chuck grew up on Belmont hill and spent his entire adult life on Grafton Hill where Chuck and Joan raised their four children in their family home.  Chuck retired at the age of 62 after working for 37 years as a Teamster Local 170 tractor trailer operator for several companies, the last 20 years for Holmes Transportation and retiring from Consolidated Freightways.  He enjoyed taking his entire family on vacations especially to Wildwood Crest in Wildwood, New Jersey.  The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center for their outstanding care and compassion.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 10:00 AM in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606. Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home is directing funeral arrangements.
