WORCESTER- Charles Steven Panagiotou, 70, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2023 at Rose Monahan Hospice House.
Charles was born in Worcester on January 13, 1953. He was a graduate of Doherty High School and received his associates degree from Quinsigamond Community College. When he was 19 he met his future wife, Sue. Charlie worked for 40 years at the TJ Maxx Distribution Center in Worcester until his retirement in 2022. After retirement, he worked part-time at Federated Auto Parts.
Charlie loved all things sports. He enjoyed cheering on the Celtics, Red Sox and any team his grandchildren played on. He liked to spend his time snowmobiling with his son in the winter and going to York Beach, Maine with friends and family in the summer. Charlie was a friend to all and the first person to offer a helping hand. Above all, Charlie was happiest when he was spending time with his wife.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Susan M. (Duggan) Panagiotou; his daughter, Stephanie Lorusso and her husband, Stephen and their children, Ryder, Madelyn and Dylan; his son, Michael Panagiotou and his wife, Lauren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Steven and Athena (Giovannis) Panagiotou; his brother Gregory Panagiotou; and his daughter Jennifer Panagiotou.
Family and friends will celebrate Charlie’s life with visiting hours on Tuesday, August 15th from 4-7pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St, Worcester. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 16th at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Jimmy Fund, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
