Chester E. Gagnon 83, of 11 Genesee St. died Monday, Feb.2, in the Hermitage Nursing Home.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Ada M. (Power) Gagnon; two sons, Timothy J. Gagnon of Worcester and Thomas F. Gagnon of Spencer; three daughters, Mary Lou Kayser of Evergreen, CO, Peggy A. Wilson of Leicester and Joan M. Gagnon of Worcester; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A son, Michael F. Gagnon and six brothers, Frederick, Norbert, Clarence, Howard, Raymond and Arthur, all predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Frederick C. and A. Ethel (Hill) Gagnon. He graduated from Commerce High School.
He was in the Army National Guard and then the Army during WWII, serving in the European Theatre, following the war Mr. Gagnon served in the Air National Guard.
He worked for the Commonwealth Gas Company for many years, retiring in 1982.He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.
A Funeral will be held Thursday, Feb.5, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 9 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling Hours are Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Church, Memorial Fund 1222 Main St. Worcester 01603 or the Alzheimer's Unit at Hermitage Nursing Home 383 Mill St. Worcester 01603.(faybrothers.com)
