MARLBOROUGH – Christine (Hartshorn) Blakesley, 63, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 9, 2020. Born in Milford, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Barbara (Cook) Hartshorn, Christine spent most of her young years in Hopkinton and later Westborough before moving to Marlborough several years ago. She graduated from Hopkinton High School.
Christine worked as a corrections officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and was assigned to MCI-Framingham. She also worked as a bar tender for several area restaurants, where she gained many friends through the years.
Those who knew Christine would all agree that she was a sincere and kind person, who was known for her devotion and dedication to friends and whatever task she took on. She was never afraid to share her opinion on any subject. Devoted to her family, Christine especially relished the time she spent with grandchildren. Christine and her husband, Rob loved to travel and she found great peace and enjoyment on any beach they visited, including many in New England, Turks and Caicos and the shoreline of Alabama, where she and Rob had planned to relocate to later this year.
She will be forever missed and loved by her beloved husband of 21 years, Robert N. Blakesley; her two children, Ashly Dobelbower of Bellingham and Jake Dobelhower of Shrewsbury; her two stepsons, Brandon Blakesley of Westerly, RI and Michael Blakesley of Leominster; her two sisters, Catherine Swift of Uxbridge and Susan Rivers of Northbridge; her brother, Kenneth Hartshorn of Marlborough; her seven grandchildren, Skyler, Teresa, Kassidi, Braydon, Desiree, Savanah and Ella; as well as several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor and remember Christine's life while gathering for her visiting hours on Thursday, March 12th from 6-8 p.m. at the Fay Brother Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston.
