We lost a very special lady this week. Christine Bascom Ellsworth passed away on March 7, 2022.
Christine was born June 21, 1924 to Leon H. and Nettie D. (Quimby) Bascom in Claremont, NH. She was educated in Worcester, and graduated from Commerce High School. Christine worked at Norton Company and gained many life-long friendships.
Along with her husband Arnold she spent time enjoying photography, music and had a devotion for saving Covered Bridges. They were members of the National Society for The Preservation of Covered Bridges.
Arnold passed away in 1980. In 2017, Christine's health made it necessary for her to move to the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center where she was loved, cared for and resided.
Christine was a lifelong Methodist and was devoted to her church and to God.
She is survived by her cousins, Leona J. Wilson of Nashua, NH, Gordon Bascom of Pinehurst, North Carolina, several second cousins, Scott Hall of Aurora, Missouri, Hazel Cilley of Florida, Robert Bruce of Florida and many other relatives.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 15 at 11am in Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. The family will receive guests at the funeral home at 10:30am. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please considering making a donation to the charity of your choice.
