Christopher G. Bates

Christopher G. Bates, 52, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11th, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

He is survived by his loving mother, Teresa Castonguay of Worcester; his father and stepmother, Gary and Charlene Bates of Bunnell, FL; his longtime companion, Michelle Convery of Worcester; a stepbrother, Jeremy Buteau, and his wife, Jessica, of Southbridge. Chris also leaves behind his cherished dog, Fozzy, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly.

Born in Worcester, Chris graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School and then devoted several years to working as a delivery driver for auto parts. He was known for his deep love for his family and enjoyed sharing memorable moments with them. An avid supporter of all New England sports teams, Chris was also a passionate car enthusiast. One of his greatest joys was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, which brought him a profound sense of freedom.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for visitation on Wednesday, April 23, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, located at 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. The burial will be held privately at Howard Cemetery in Sutton for family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606, in honor of Chris's memory.
