WORCESTER-Claire R. Callahan, 88, daughter of Frank J. Callahan, co-founder of Callahan Brothers Funeral Home, and Claire Croteau, passed away at the Lutheran Home of Worcester on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
Born in Worcester on February 1, 1920, Claire graduated from North High School in Worcester. She continued her studies at the University of Michigan and graduated from the Latin American Institute in New York City in 1951. Claire lived for 46 years in New York City, pursuing a career as a travel agent. She traveled extensively, visiting 54 countries over those years. Claire moved to Hartford, CT and resided there approximately15 years before returning to Worcester in 2013.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 18th in Section B at St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street. Donations, in lieu of flowers may be made to the Notre Dame Hospice Program, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
Arrangements are in the care of Callahan Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.
