WEST BOYLSTON-Clarence J. Cormier, 99, passed away Saturday, May 17. His wife of 65 years, Leila I. (Landry) Cormier passed away in 2000. He leaves a brother, Francis Cormier of Fitchburg, nieces and nephews. Four brothers and two sisters, predeceased him.
He was born in Fitchburg the son of Gedeon and Mary (Ledger) Cormier and attended Fitchburg schools. Clarence worked as a reamer at Norton Company for 17 years retiring in 1971. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and West Boylston Elder Services. Clarence received the Boston Post Cane Award in 2007 for being West Boylston's Oldest Citizen.
Clarence's funeral will be Wednesday, May 21 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. A visiting period will be held from 9:00 to 9:30 before the funeral at the funeral home.
