MOODY, ME/STERLING, MA-Clifford A. "Kip" LaVigne, Jr., 70, died Saturday, January 31 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He leaves his loving wife of 48 years, Geraldine L. (Meola) LaVigne; three daughters, Robin A. and her husband, Peter J. Merchant of Gardner, Debra A. and her husband, Mark C. Stuart of Barre and Kimberly A. and her husband, Allan R. Lipka of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren, Tyler, Megan, Taryn, Tanner, Skyler and Nikolas and his father, Clifford A. LaVigne, Sr. of Worcester.

He was born in Worcester the son of Ingrid V. (Swanberg) LaVigne and graduated from Monson Academy and Worcester Junior College. Mr. LaVigne was President and owner of Arrow Composition, Inc. of West Boylston. He was an accomplished pilot and a member of the Aircraft Owner's Pilot Association. Kip and Gerry moved to Maine in 1999 to enjoy the sun and sand of Moody Beach. Kip enjoyed being with his family and his grandchildren and always had time for a call to dear friends. He will be sorely missed by all the people he touched with his smile and kindness.

The funeral will be Friday, February 6 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St. with a Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. A private graveside service will be held in the spring at Hillside Cemetery, Sterling, MA. Visiting hours will be Thursday, February 5 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Kip's wishes were for those who would like to touch the life of a child to kindly make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or to The Smile Train, 41 Madison Ave., 28th Floor, New York, NY 10010
