West Boylston
Clifford O. "Sonny" Nelson 66, of 44 Maple St. died Saturday (November 23) at UMASS Memorial Medical Center-University Campus, Worcester, after a short illness.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, Judith A. (Ramstrom) Nelson, two sons, Mark C. Nelson of West Boylston and Scott D. Nelson of Oakham, two brothers, Kenneth Hatfield of West Virginia and Gene Hatfield of Kansas, three grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A sister Lou Anne Hawkins of West Jefferson, OH predeceased him. He was born in Ameagle , W.V. son of Arnold and Mary E. (Griffin) Nelson.
He worked at Rotando and Ramstrom Inc. and he was a cook in several area restaurants, retiring several years ago.
He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a past member of the West Boylston Fire Department, coached West Boylston Community League Baseball, was a member of the Eight Point Sportsman's Club, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday (November 27) at 10a.m. in Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St. (www.faybrothers.com). Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling Hours are Tuesday (November 26) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
