Clifton C. Nickerson, 82, of 15 Horseshoe Dr., died Monday, November 11, in his home after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Catherine I. (Sandy) Nickerson, three sons, Thomas W. Nickerson of San Carlos, CA; David C. Nickerson of New Orleans, LA, and Douglas A. Nickerson of Billerica. He was born in Abington, son of Caleb and Florence (Brown) Nickerson. He lived in West Boylston for over 50 years.

Mr. Nickerson was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Image Concepts Technologies Inc. in Marlborough, which he founded in 1985, retiring in 1998. Previously he was a product engineer in the Abrasive Division of Norton Co., then a sales manager of Unimation Inc of Danbury, CT, and a marketing manager for Gould & Eberhardt in Worcester. He graduated from Wentworth Institute in Boston and Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater and received thirteen battle stars.

Mr. Nickerson was an avid photographer. He and his wife backpacked throughout much of Western Europe and India. His hobbies also included mountain climbing, camping, fishing and volleyball. He served as Boy Scout Leader.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 16, at 11 a.m. in Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in South Dennis Cemetery, Dennis. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
