Cynthia M. Hayes

CHERRY VALLEY-Cynthia M. Hayes, 54, died Monday, October 11 at St. Vincent Hospital. She leaves her companion Roland Dumont with whom she lived for many years; a son, Matthew D. Jean of West Boylston; her mother, Madeline M. (Labrie) Hayes of West Boylston; her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth A. and Richard E. Metterville of Oakham. She also leaves a nephew Adam E. Metterville and a niece Rachel E. Metterville, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Her father Francis E. Hayes predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, graduated from West Boylston High School and Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. Cindy was a Registered Nurse for many years and worked at the former Worcester City Hospital and various nursing homes including Oakdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She loved the outdoors, camping, and reading and she was a history enthusiast. She especially loved her cats, Bob, Cat and Buddy.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 15 from 5-7 PM in FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. Burial in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cindy's name may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, Inc., 111 Young Rd., P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01505.
