Daniel K. Donabedian

WORCESTER-Daniel K. Donabedian, 86, of Worcester, died Friday, July 9. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Kinoian) Donabedian; two sons, Brian J. Donabedian and his wife Judith of Auburn and Mark S. Donabedian of Worcester; a daughter, Karen L. Riccardi of Worcester; three grandsons, James Riccardi of Worcester, Taylor Donabedian of Auburn and Andrew Donabedian of Worcester and a granddaughter, Stefani Rinaldo of Auburn. He also leaves a niece Mary Der Manouelian of Warwick, RI and a nephew Thomas Peterson of Pawtucket, RI. He was predeceased by his sister Lucille Peterson.
Born June 14, 1924 to Kachadoor and Zartar (Soghomonian) Donabedian in Worcester and moved to Shrewsbury at an early age where he was educated. Daniel was employed by Charles Manoog Plumbing and Heating Co., Inc. until his retirement in 1995. He served in World War II with the 150th Combat Engineers in Europe, attached to General George Patton's Third Army. He was a member of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church where he served on the Board of Trustees and was a member of the Men's Club. He was a member of the Greater Worcester County Armenian Chorale and enjoyed doing puzzles and being with his family and friends.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 13 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., with an 11:00 AM service in Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, July 12 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home. A Dahngark Service will be held during the calling hours.
