AUBURN-Daniel R. Scavone, 60, of Auburn passed away Saturday, May 19 in UMASS Memorial Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 25 years, Karen A. (Germain) Scavone; two sons, D.J. Scavone and Jack N. Scavone both of Auburn; nine siblings, James Scavone, Patrick Scavone, Marta Durrette and her husband, Michael, Ann Scavone and her husband, Glen Tao, Tim Scavone and his wife, Michelle, Phil Scavone and his wife, Eileen, Casey Scavone and his wife, Doreen, Liz Trumble and her husband, James and Michael Scavone and his wife, Nancy; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A brother, John Scavone predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of James and Elizabeth (Donahue) Scavone and graduated from Saint Peter's High School.
Daniel worked for the Worcester County Sheriff Department for several years, before retiring. In his retirement he enjoyed working part-time for County Cab and North Star Hockey Arena.
Daniel found the most enjoyment while in the company of his family and in watching his two sons succeed both athletically and academically. Alongside the love for his family and friends, Daniel had a passion for music, sports, and reading, which were all activities he was able to enjoy up until his passing. His stress-free demeanor and witty sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him, and Daniel may rest peacefully knowing that he will forever be in the thoughts of those important to him.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 24 at 10a.m. in Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Wednesday, May 23 from 5 to 8p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
