WEST BOYLSTON-David Rodney Bilodeau, 74, of West Boylston, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at home after a long illness. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 27 years, June A. (Petty) Bilodeau, a son, Scott D. Bilodeau and his wife Samantha of Orlando, FL; a brother, Robert Bilodeau and his wife Paula of Uxbridge and nephews and nieces. A brother Francis Bilodeau predeceased him.
He was born in Uxbridge, son of the late Joseph O. and Louise (Konvent) Bilodeau. He was an aircraft mechanic in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and when discharged from the Air Force, he worked at Pratt & Whitney. In following years, David worked as a mail clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 36 years before retiring. He enjoyed taking cruises with June, gardening and crossword puzzles.
The family would like to thank the VNA Network Hospice for the care they provided, especially David's hospice nurse Moira Gavin.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, November 27 from 9:30-11:00 am at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston immediately followed by a service in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to either the Center for Neuro-Oncology c/o Dana Farber Cancer Center, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215 or the VNA Care Hospice of Worcester, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
