WORCESTER-David F. Cardinal, 60, of longtime resident of Worcester and Fitchburg passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. He is survived by his parents Norbert and Therese (Richard) Cardinal; two brothers, Dennis Cardinal and his wife Mary of Webster and nephews, James Cardinal and Mark Bedard; Daniel Cardinal and his wife Lisa of Franklin and niece Jordann and nephew Colton; a sister Donna Sargent and her husband William of Worcester, nephews, Jason, Daniel and Michael and great-nephew, Alex. He was predeceased by his niece Melissa Sargent.


David was born in Worcester and graduated from South High School in 1975. He retired from the Worcester Sheriff's Department after 28 years. In his younger years, he worked in the night club business as Manager of the Red Barn and the Pent House. David was Deputy Grand Knight of Alhambra Council Knights of Columbus %2388. He loved going to Camp Ellis, Maine with his family and hanging out at the pool with his family and friends.


His outgoing and loving personality and storytelling ways will be missed by his countless number of friends. David had a positive outlook on life regardless of all the hardships he encountered and always had an endless smile that made those around him laugh with him.


Please gather at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street at Noon on Tuesday, March 8th to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for David. Private visiting hours will precede mass at the funeral home. Burial will be private and held at a later date.
