MILLBURY
David P. Doherty, III, 57, of 118 Worcester Providence Turnpike, died Wednesday, March 23 in UMass Memorial Healthcare after a long illness.
He leaves his wife Heidi J. (Hall) Doherty; his mother, Edna T. (Doherty) Doherty of Worcester; a son, David P. Doherty, IV of Auburn' two daughters, Nancy Decker of Durham, ME and Karen Coffey of Worcester; three step-daughters, Sherri, Corinne and Nicole Labbe all of Millbury; three sisters, Kathleen Arsenault of Charlton, Jean Laconto of Tuson, AZ and Elaine Doherty of Auburn; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester son of David P. Doherty, II and graduated from Worcester Schools.
Dave was a truck mechanic for DAP Fleet Services working at Verizon. He formerly owned and operated Auto Electric in Worcester for over 20 years. He was a member of the Century Sportsman Club, the Main South American Legion Post %23341 and the Local Teamsters Union %23170. Dave loved to go deep sea fishing, golf and was an avid history buff.
The funeral will be Saturday, March 26 at 11:00 a.m. in CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. Calling Hours will be Friday, March 25 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the UMass Memorial Healthcare, Cancer Center, 55 Lake Ave., No., Worcester, MA 016055
