West Boylston
David S. Lovell, 83, died Friday, Dec. 9 at the Highlands Nursing Home in Fitchburg, after a brief illness. Born on Oct. 20, 1922, Mr. Lovell was a longtime resident of West Boylston. He was the son of the late Julius F. and Myrtle (Reed) Lovell.
David Lovell was a graduate of West Boylston High School and New England Aircraft School. He worked for 34 years for Pratt and Whitney and United Technologies in the Hartford, CT area.
Mr. Lovell was a hobbyist, craftsman, and collector, developing an extensive antique toy train collection, as well as creating working models of aircraft, boats, and trains. He was a member of the Pilgrim John Howland Society.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Lamb) Lovell who died in 1999. Also predeceasing Mr. Lovell were three siblings, Arnold Lovell, Ellen Lovell Cleaves and Sarah Lovell Madden. Mr Lovell was the loving uncle of Patty Wilhelm, and David Madden both of Baltimore, MD, Mark Cleaves of Fitchburg, Ronald Cleaves of Norwell and Lucinda Burach of Meredith, NH. He also leaves several great nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the West Boylston Historical Society, 65 Worcester St., PO Box 201, W. Boylston, 01583. FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St. is directing arrangements.
