WEST BOYLSTON-David R. Montville, 82, of West Boylston passed away Thursday, December 23 at UMASS Medical Center.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Miriam E. (Martilla) Montville; four children, among them, David J. Montville of Mechanicville, NY; several grandchildren, among them, Justin A. Montville and his wife, Diana of Grafton and Jason S. Montville and his wife, Renee of Charlton; several great-grandchildren, among them, Ella, Joseph, Lily, Zoe, Silas and Savanah. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Roland L. Montville and Irene (Ducharme) Montville Hopkins. His step-father, John W. Hopkins, predeceased him. He attended North High School and graduated from Commerce High School. David then spent six years in the United States Air National Guard Reserve, during peacetime following the Korean War.
David worked as a quality control inspector for Norton Company, retiring in 2001 after working 42 years. He was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Nascar fan. He loved camping in Old Orchard Beach Maine and in early years was active in a CB Radio club.
A Private Graveside Service will be held in Mount Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
