Worcester

David P. Mott of Worcester, a beloved pillar of his family, passed away peacefully at home on
May 25, 2024. He was born in Worcester on September 25 1960, son to Nancy A. (Gowans)
and Arthur H. Mott.
In his early years Dave attended Worcester schools. For 25 years David, lovingly known as Big
Dave and notoriously known as Diamond Dave, enjoyed the adventures and stories that came
along with driving cabs for the Worcester community. As a jack of all trades he had a passion for
many entrepreneurial ventures.
David took great pride in being the great nephew of Harvey Ball, the creator of the famous
Worcester smiley face. He continued that legacy by always promoting a smile in all situations.
He loved to explore and always seemed to have a sharp eye for finding lost treasures. Dave
was an avid local sports fan with a deep devotion to the Bruins. Above all else his greatest
passion was his family.
Big Dave is predeceased by his parents Nancy A. (Gowans) and Arthur H. Mott as well as his
younger brother Arthur D. Mott. He leaves behind his older brother John Mott of Cape Cod and
younger sister Cathy Butler of FLA. He also leaves his loving companion and mother of his
three children Ann P. of Spencer; His son David Mott of Worcester his partner Kelisha and their
children David Mott Jr and Novalynn Mott; His son John Zawalich of Webster his partner Caitlin
and their children Rachel Z. and Paisley Z.; His daughter Malarie Zawalich and her children
