David C. Vincent

January 7, 1956 — December 17, 2018

WORCESTER - David C. Vincent, 62, a lifelong Worcester resident, died peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Saint Vincent Hospital, following a period of declining health.

David was born in Worcester, a son of Henry Vincent, Sr. and Mary Agnes (Lajeunesse) Mellen. He graduated from Doherty High School, Class of 1974, and attended Clark University. David then enlisted in the US Air Force, serving four years. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal. Following his active duty time, David began working as a draftsman for Raytheon Corporation, where he worked for 15 years. David's work involved many of the military systems developed by Raytheon, especially the Patriot Missile. Health issues forced David to retire early, and he spent his remaining years working odd jobs.

David loved many things; travel, listening to music, reading crime novels, drawing and writing, focusing on children's stories. But David's greatest love fell on his family. He was the favorite uncle to his many nieces and nephews, and was devoted enough to adopt his son, Duane.

David will be missed by his son, Duane and his wife, Lyn of Worcester; his cherished siblings, Thomas R. Vincent of Worcester, Henry L. Vincent, Jr. of Webster and Linda Stevens of Florida; his son's four children and three step-grandchildren; a many loving nieces and nephews. Besides his sister, Rosemary, David was predeceased by his father, Henry as well as his mother and step father, Mary Agnes and Henry W. Mellen, Jr.

Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate David's life on Saturday, December 22nd with a visiting hour from 9:30 – 10:30 at the Lindquist-Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street, Worcester. A prayer service will follow at 10:30. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
