David R. Wallen, 61, of Worcester passed away Friday, April 17, unexpectedly.
He leaves his wife of nearly 40 years, Elizabeth A. (Quinn) Wallen; two daughters, Kimberly A. Demma and her husband Christopher A. and Mary Elizabeth Wallen and her fiance, Kevin M. McGillicuddy; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew and Sean; his mother, Mary Ramstrom all of Worcester; a brother, Stephen V. Wallen of California; a sister, Christine E. Bancroft of Plymouth; nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Russell Wallen.
He was born in Worcester and graduated from South High School and the College of the Holy Cross. David worked for Rome Insurance Company in Fitchburg. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading. He was an American History enthusiast and was past president of the Civil War Round Table of Massachusetts. David also loved to travel and one of his favorite trips was to Alaska.
The funeral will be held Wed. April 22, from Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting Hours are Tues., April 21, from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
