Worcester

WORCESTER- Debra “Debbie” Bonneau, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 10, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Worcester on April 23, 1954, daughter of the late Edward and Dolores (Potenti) D’Acri. Debbie graduated from North High School in 1974 and was employed for 42 years in the same day surgery department at St. Vincent Hospital. Debbie’s smile and personality helped many patients feel relaxed and comforted before and after surgery. She recently retired in August to watch her grandson, Keegan, who was the light of her life.

Debbie’s family was her world, and many special memories were made at Mayflower Beach and Hyannisport Harbor on Cape Cod and in the White Mountains in North Conway, New Hampshire. She was an avid gardener and when inside the house she either had QVC or Fox News on the TV. She loved cooking for her family and that is where she earned her nickname “Mama Meatball.” Her smile, laugh, and warm hugs will be missed dearly.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Gary J. Bonneau; her loving children, Patrick J. Bonneau of Worcester and Alicia M. Coakley and her husband, Connor of Worcester; her beloved grandson, Keegan Coakley, and her step-son Joseph Bonneau of Albuquerque, NM; her siblings, Michael D’Acri and his wife, Kim of Charlton, Gina Mitchell and her husband, Joseph of Worcester, Paul D’Acri and his wife, Donna of Auburn, Edward D’Acri and his wife, Dianna of West Warren, Sandra Hinson and her husband, William of Worcester; several nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.

Family and friends will celebrate Debbie’s life with visiting hours on Monday, February 20th from 1:00-4:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 21st at St. John’s Church, 44 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
