Diran Eknaian

Worcester-Diran Eknaian, 82, passed away Saturday, March 9 in the Lutheran Home.

He leaves  a sister, Hatun Akin of Worcester and many nieces and nephews, among them, Mehmet Eracar, Herman Eknaian and Harry Eknaian. Three siblings predeceased him, Harry Eknaian, Mariam Eracar and Hacik Eknayan. He was born in Malatia, Turkey son of Hovagim and Marquohie Eknaian.

Diran worked as a machine operator for Norton Company alongside his brother for many years, prior to that he worked for Brown Shoe Company. He was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church and its Men’s club. He enjoyed hosting family cookouts, playing cards with his friends at the Armenian Club and an occasionally trip to the casino or horse track. 

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 15 at 11am in Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove St. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may in Diran’s memory to his church.
