WORCESTER-Donald H. Brickman Sr. died peacefully in Worcester on December 9, 2025. He leaves a son, Donald Jr. and wife, Brittany of Worcester; a daughter, Sharon Selander and husband, Bradley of Alexandria, NH; and 3 grandchildren, Abigayle, Hunter, and Alice.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Hugo Waldemar and Alma Alice (Van Winkle) Brickman. He was a graduate of Worcester Academy and attended Worcester Teachers College and Becker Jr. College. He was employed by Malcom G. Stevens Foundry Supplies in the sales department for many years and also worked for Reed and Prince & Screw Co., Burton Saw, Shrewsbury Police Department, Shrewsbury Boat Ramp, Worcester Police Department Auxiliary Unit. Donald was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Worcester and served as a youth advisor, on the board of deacons, as an usher/head usher, a church school teacher, and a member of the choir.
He was a member of Worcester Pistol Rifle Club, Green Water Wizard Fishing Club, the Auburn Sportsman Club, the National Ski Patrol, South Worcester Kiwanis Club and Shrewsbury Rotary Club.
Donald served his country in the Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Worcester Chapter of the Order of DeMolay, earned the Chevalier and Legion of Honor, 2 Blue Honor Keys, 3 White Honor Keys. He was also a member of Morningstar Lodge, Scottish Rite, Valley of Worcester, Lodge of Perfection, Princes of Jerusalem, Chapter of Rose Croix, Hiram Council of the York Rite Bodies, Alehteia Grotto Medical Unit, Captain Emeritus of the Aleppo Shriners Medical Unit, Captain of the Melha Shriners Medical Unit, Past President of Worcester County Shrine Club, Nashoba Valley Court #13, Order of the Amaranth, Orient Chapter #31 Order of the Eastern Star, Past Patron, Aurora Chapter #9 Order of the Eastern Star and received the Council of Deliberation MSA Award.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 9:30-11am with a brief service at 11am at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St Worcester, MA. Donations in his memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 51 Blossom St. Boston, MA 02114. www.shrinerschildrens.org
