WORCESTER-Donald J. Griffin, Sr., 97, of Worcester formerly of Oxford died Saturday, October 22 in the Life Care Center, Auburn.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Lillian D. (Either) Griffin; a son Gerald M. Griffin and his wife, Susan of Worcester; three step-sons; George L. Bayrouty, Jr. and his wife, Vicki of Worcester, James D. Bayrouty of Ridgewood, NJ and Thomas M. Bayrouty, Sr. of Webster; two daughters-in-law, Joyce Griffin of Paxton and Judith Griffin of Worcester; a brother, Joseph Halloran of West Boylston; twelve grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. His first wife, Barbara (Malia) and three sons, Mark S., Donald J. and Thomas P. Griffin predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Patrick and Catherine (Howe) Griffin and was an Army Veteran of WWII.
Don was a Firefighter for the City of Worcester for 25 year, stationed in the former Winslow Street Fire Department. He also worked for the former Flag Awning company.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, November 1 at 11:30am in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Arrangements are in the care of Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester, MA.
