Donald A. Wilmot, 76, of 405 Worcester St., died Sunday, October 28, in the Beaumont Nursing Home and Skilled Rehabilitation Center, Westboro, after a illness.

He leaves his wife of 58 years, H. Eleanor (Holmberg) Wilmot: four sons, Ronald A. Wilmot of Charlton; Charles R. Wilmot of Worcester; Mark A. Wilmot of Oxford and Paul A. Wilmot of North Ridge, CA; five daughters; Jenette M. Spratt of West Boylston; Judith A. McCarthy of Grandham, NH; Diane L. Carlson of Newington, CT; Linette E. Dolan of Holden and Evette M. Rua of Bristol, CT; a sister, Barbara E. Giaquinto of Grafton, 24 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A grandson Richard Marsden of West Hartford died in 1984. He was born in Worcester, son of Albert A. and Ethel M. (Therrien) Wilmot and lived in West Boylston for 55 years. He was the gas inspector for the Town of West Boylston for many years.

He worked for the West Boylston Library for the last three years retiring this year due to illness. Prior to that he was a gas fitter for Ralph Gray Gas Supply and Installation Service and also owned and operated Donald Wilmot Gas Installation and Appliance Service and he was contracted by The Commonwealth Gas Co. He also worked at the Heald Machine Co; and State Mutual Life Assurance Co. and at the Sheraton Hotel. He was a licensed Real Estate Broker.

He was a Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Germania Social Club, a former member of the Worcester Art Museum, the Harold N. Keith Post 204 American Legion, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. He graduated from Millbury High School.

A Funeral will be held Wednesday, October 31, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 WorcesterSt. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice.
