Donna M. Lamphron

Donna M. (Marrone) Lamphron, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, at CareOne in Millbury.

Born on June 22, 1946, Donna was the beloved first born of 5 children of the late Edith M. (Killoran) Marrone and Donald J. Marrone Sr. of West Boylston.

Donna grew up with great compassion for others and spent most of her life providing care as a nurse and caretaker.

A graduate from Notre Dame Academy in Worcester, she pursued her nursing education at St. Vincent's School of Nursing, and later received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Boston University.

Dedicating her lifetime to the care of others, Donna began her nursing career at St. Vincent Hospital while later spending years nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital and with the United States Air Force as a flight nurse.

During her military service, she met the love of her life and future husband, David Lamphron. It would not be until two decades later that they would meet again and marry shortly thereafter.

Donna loved to travel and enjoy life, and her journeys took her to many different homes throughout her life. She grew up in Worcester, MA and lived her early years in Boston, MA. Living in the North End and later the downtown waterfront for decades made her a true Bostonian at heart. Later, following her marriage to David, living in the heart of Manhattan, NY would be among her favorite years as she fully embraced the life of a converted New Yorker, enjoying the culture, excitement and energy of that city. Tragedy sadly cost her David only a few years later and forced her forever departure from NY.

Donna continued to enjoy life as her journeys took her to other future residences including Natick, Martha's Vineyard, and Shrewsbury; and eventually to the beaches of the Gulf waters of Sarasota, Tampa, and Naples FL. She continued to help people as a visiting nurse and enjoyed the lifestyle of a new Floridian. Whether on the beach or by the shore she found great joy in soaking up the sun and feeling the calming atmosphere that the ocean brings, always with a glass of her favorite Cabernet and a smile. Eventually her travels took her full circle back to her beginnings, her birthplace of Worcester, MA.

Donna had an extra special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews. Never having children of her own, she enjoyed all of her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews to the fullest. Always the "fun" and "crazy" aunt, she lived for those special moments like birthdays, holidays and Christmas, and never missed these important events no matter where her travels had taken her.

Donna further lived for her companion family, her dogs Lily, Beau and others, throughout her life, and her beloved "children" as she called them brought her endless companionship and joy throughout the years and places.

More than anything she embraced her first 60 years of life with her sister Diane who always represented an unsurpassable closeness. Together, they shared enjoyment and world travels which included such places as Rome, Paris, Italy, Venice and Lourdes.

A strong believer in her Catholic faith and the afterlife, Donna faithfully awaited the day she would one day reunite with the other half of herself, her twin Diane.

Donna leaves behind her brother-in-law, Dr. Wayne E. Silva of Shrewsbury, who was always her support and rock; her sister, Patricia A. (Marrone) of Shrewsbury; her nieces and nephews, Kristen Duquette and husband, Jeffrey, of Shrewsbury; Colin Silva and wife, Jennifer, of Worcester; Shana Agiomavritis and husband, Demosthenes, of Shrewsbury, Adam Silva and wife, Melissa, of VT; and Sabrina Park and husband, Justin, of Sutton; and other loved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, David Lamphron; her twin sister and other half, Diane L. (Marrone) Silva; her brother, Donald J. Marrone Jr.; and her sister, Ann Marie (Marrone) Coffey.

Family and friends are welcome to a celebration of Donna’s life with visiting hours on Monday, July 20th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston. An additional calling hour will be held on Tuesday, July 21st in the funeral home from 10:00am until 11:00am, followed by a funeral service. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston.
