SOUTHBRIDGE- Donna J. (Selby) Roy, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Southbridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
She was born in Barrington Passage, Nova Scotia on October 10, 1949, daughter of the late Donald and Norma (Smith) Selby. She was raised and educated in Canada where she met and married David T. Roy, Sr before relocating to the United States to settle down in Worcester and then raise her family in Auburn Ma.
Before retiring, Donna was employed at Genzyme where she worked as a documentation specialist. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Worcester and participated as a teacher in their Sunday School Program. Donna was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and also a past Mother Advisor for the Rainbow where she provided guidance and support to many girls throughout the years. She enjoyed traveling and making friends everywhere she went with her husband David. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed sewing and crocheting even making quilts until her last days.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 53 years, David T. Roy, Sr; her children, David T. Roy, Jr., and his wife, Joan of Colorado, Virginia Roy Gervais and her husband, Jonathan of Sutton; a brother, Norman Selby of Canada; and her two treasured grandchildren, Ethan and Morgan Gervais, both of Sutton. She was predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth Roy.
A Life Celebration will be held at a future date and will be private. The Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester is honored to be assisting her family with the arrangements. Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Western and Central Mass, and Parkinson's Disease Charity or Michael J Fox Foundation.
