Doris June Merritt

WEST BOYLSTON/HOLDEN
Doris June (Hansen) Merritt, 82, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 14, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital.
She leaves her husband of 60 years and best friend William E. Merritt. Doris also leaves four children, Cheryl Koleshis and her husband Stephen, Carolyn Rosling and her husband David, William Merritt and his wife Cynthia, and Edward Merritt and his wife Susan. She was very proud of her eleven grandchildren, Nicole, Johanna, Michael, Kristin, Melissa, Elizabeth, Rachel, Matthew, David, Kyle and Jonathan and three great-grandchildren, William, Ella and Travis.
Doris was born in Webster and worked at Norton Company after graduating from Commerce High School. After raising her four children, she and Bill enjoyed traveling and seeing our country. She lived in West Boylston for over 50 years. She loved caring for her home and gardens. Doris enjoyed attending events involving her children and grandchildren, such as sporting events, dance recitals and a variety of school programs.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held Monday, May 18, 2009 at 11 AM in Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
