WESTBOROUGH-Doris M. (DesRoches) Ouellette, 90, formerly of Worcester, died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough with her loving family by her side.Doris was born and raised in Malden, daughter of the late Albini and Mary (MacIsaac) DesRoches. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years Gaston (Al) Ouellette and her sister Anne Caulk.
She leaves behind three children, to whom she was affectionately known as "Mumsie": Michael and his wife, Madeleine of Douglas, Marie Sturgis and her husband, Douglas of Uxbridge, and Denise Cook and her husband, Frank Whitney of Oldsmar Florida; her five grandchildren: Michael and his wife Liliana, Stephanie and her husband, Craig, Elizabeth and her significant other, Michael Harman, Christopher and his fiancée, Melissa Cripps, Olivia Rose Ouellette; three great-grandchildren and a niece and nephew.
Doris stayed home to raise her children then re-entered the workforce as a skilled secretary. She worked for a number of years at Table Talk Pies and Guaranty Bank. She was a long-time parishioner at Christ the King Church in Worcester. She sang for over 20 years in the choir and was a member of the Women's Guild for many years.
Doris always saw the glass half full, choosing to see the good in people and positivity in life and she always wanted everyone to do the same. In recent years she lived a very full life at Beaumont Nursing Home in Westborough. She filled her days taking part in activities, watching out for her friends, and visiting with family particularly taking joy in lunches and sundaes with Maddie. The family would like to thank all the staff at Beaumont Nursing Home for their love and compassionate care. To the hospice staff who helped Doris and her loved ones the family is eternally grateful.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, July 17th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Callahan Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.
Doris' family and friends are invited to gather at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 18th to celebrate her Funeral Mass. Doris will be interred with her husband "Al" at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later time.
