Dorothea B. Loughlin

Dorothea (Barry) Loughlin, 91, of Shrewsbury, MA, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Walter P. and Emma B.(LeBeau) Barry. She is survived by three sons, Dale B. of Long Beach, CA, Barry of Shrewsbury, MA, Kevin of Brookline, MA and two daughters, Shawn Elliott of Auburn, MA, and Robin of Shrewsbury, MA, five grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Marina, Emma, and Liam, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, William J. Loughlin, in 2001 and her sisters, Beverle Herrmann and Shirley Barry.

She was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester. She and her husband operated an income tax preparation business for many years. A long-time member of Christ the King Parish, Dorothea was a founding member of its Women's Guild and was active in the CCD program. She served as an Assumption College Volunteer and was a Charter Member of the Worcester Swim Club.

The funeral will be held Monday, September 13 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street,Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St. Shrewsbury. Burial will be at the family's convenience in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. There will be no calling hours.
