Dorothy R. Anderson

HARWICH-Dorothy R. (Martin) Anderson, 91, formerly of Worcester, Rochdale and Dennisport, passed away, Sunday, October 18 in Epoch Senior Healthcare of Harwich. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Stanley F. Anderson on September 10, 1973 and later by her constant companion of 18 years, Frank Selmeski in 1994. She leaves two sons, Edward R. Anderson and Richard S. Anderson, both of Dennisport; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Lorraine Gartatzoghian and five brothers, Leo, Donald, Edward, Raymond and Paul Martin.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Edward and Florence (Dupont) Martin and graduated from Commerce High School. During World War II she worked for the Department of Defense at Rockwood Sprinkler Company. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church while living in Worcester and Rochdale. Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife and mother and she loved spending time in her kitchen cooking, baking and canning for her family. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing and playing cards.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22 at 10 AM in LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester. Burial will follow in All Faith's Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday, October 21 from 6-8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
