HOLDEN-Dorothy G. (Loiselle) Anderson, 101 of Holden passed away in her home, surrounded by her family on Friday, February 11.

Her husband, Paul I. Anderson passed away in 2007. She leaves three children, Russell C. Anderson and his wife, Anna M. of Hudson, NY, Sandra A. McGuinness and her husband, Michael B. of Fitzwilliam, NH and Judith B. Palmer of Holden; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A sister, Alice D. Staten, a granddaughter, Pamela Ann McGuinness and a son-in-law, Thomas Palmer predeceased her. She was born in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada, daughter of Charles and Irene D. (Tribe) Loiselle.

Dorothy arrived on Ellis Island at the age of 3 with her family and was quarantined there, due to Scarlet Fever. During that time her father worked in the shipyards to support their family. She endured several hardships, like this throughout her life, but remained strong and resilient. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Dorothy had a beautiful smile and loved reading and learning, especially about anything spiritual. She enjoyed studying different cultures and researching family genealogy. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.

The family would like to thank Elder Services of Worcester, Oriol Home Care, hospice and her many friends for all their compassionate care and support.

Graveside Service will be held Friday, February 18 at Noon in Worcester County Memorial Park. A Public Memorial Service will be announced in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, may be made to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, 01605.
