WORCESTER-Dorothy T. Gilbert, 92, died Tuesday, November 29. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 33 years, Albert Gilbert. She is survived by her niece, Debra Holloway of Taos, NM, and longtime friends Irene Prowdy and Barbara Koppetsch.
Dorothy was employed by David Clark Manufacturing Company in Worcester for nearly 30 years, where she was a pattern/patent designer, and glove specialist in the aerospace sector of the company. She personally measured the Gemini astronauts for their gloves and space suits; and created the gloves/prototypes worn on those and other missions.
Dorothy was an active member of the German Shepherd of Central Massachusetts for many years; training and showing her dogs in obedience classes in New England and Canada. For many years she brought her dogs into nursing homes and other settings, offering their therapeutic and entertainment benefits to many elders and patients.
Most of all, Dorothy, was a kind, loving and generous person. She will be missed by all who knew her. May she rest in Peace.
A private burial will be held in High Plains Cemetery, West Boylston.
