AUBURN-Dorothy M. (Rotters) Hult, 93, passed away Friday, May 22 in the Epoch of Brewster Senior Living Center Brewster.
Her husband of 65 years, Edward O. Hult, whom she married on October 17, 1942 died in 2007. Dorothy leaves her son, Robert E. Hult and his wife, Paula of Harvard; a daughter, Janice L. Johnson and her husband, Francis of North Truro; her grandchildren, Robert Hult, Jessica Fish, Anna Mezzano, Melissa Sparks, Heidi Tatum and Peter Hult; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was born on June 16, 1921 in Derby, CT, daughter of O. Henry and G.H. Friedericka (Meyers) Rotters. She graduated from Shelton High School in 1939 and Becker Junior College in 1941.
Dorothy worked at American Steel & Wire Co. and Royal Typewriter.
Dorothy was active in Boy Scouts, Camp Fire, and the Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, where she was a member since 1955. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending summers in North Truro, walking, biking, gardening, photography, knitting, sewing and homemaking were among her pleasures. Most of all she loved helping others and spending time with her family, friends, and church community.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 30 at 11:00am in Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins Street, Worcester. Burial will be private in Old Swedish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Quinsigamond United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are in the care of LINDQUIST LUNDIN Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street, Worcester.
