WORCESTER-Dorothy M. (Sullivan) Smith Savoy, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 23 at St. Francis Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Irving T. Smith in 1954. She leaves three daughters, Nancy L. Laraia, Maureen R. Reno and Donna M. Bottali and her husband Carlo, all of Worcester, and a son Mark M. Savoy and his wife Lucia, of Burbank, CA. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Dorothy was predeceased by a granddaughter, Cheryl Field, a grandson, Joseph Laraia, and three brothers, her twin, Daniel Sullivan and Robert and Edward Sullivan.
She was born in Worcester on April 10, 1919, the daughter of Daniel and Nettie (White) Sullivan and attended Worcester Public Schools. Dorothy worked in many restaurants in the Worcester area throughout the years until the age of 80. She was an active volunteer with the Salvation Army and the Mustard Seed, and she was also there for her friends and neighbors whenever they needed her help.
The funeral will be held on Monday, March 28 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street with a Mass at 10 AM in St. John's Church 40 Temple Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday, March 27 from 4-7 PM in the funeral home. For directions and online condolence book please visit www.callahanfay.com
