Worcester- Douglas K. Roy of Worcester passed away peacefully Thurs. Oct. 22 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center from complications of Leukemia.
Douglas was 59 years old, the youngest of seven children and is survived by his loving siblings Gerogene Smith of Florida, Gerald Roy of New Hampshire and Kenneth Roy of Calif. He also leaves his loving aunt Norma Smith of Princeton, Ma., his best friend Cathy Ciullo who supported him in good times and in bad and Eileen Benoit and Jack Toney for being part of his support team. Lastly he leaves his canine companion Shelly. Doug was born in Holden, son of Elise Lamoureux Roy and Sylvio Roy. He was a graduate of Burncoat High School.
Doug owned and operated Art's Dinner on West Boylston St. for many years. He was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, golfing with his many friends and spending time on the beach.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, October 29 at 11:00 am in Worcester County Memorial park, Richards Ave., Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the cancer center for Leukemia c/o the UMASS Office of Advancement, 333 South St., Shrewsbury, Ma. 01545
