Dr. Robert F. Kelly

Robert F. Kelly, M.D. age 100 died on 12/13/2024. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Margaret M (Hickey) Kelly R.N.

 Robert was born in Boston, Mass the son of Joseph E. and Mary(Boyan) Kelly. One of nine, he was predeceased by brothers Paul J. ,William C., Dr. Joseph E., Dr Leo T., Girard T., Charles A., John M. and his sister Mary O’Connell, and nephew Joseph O’Connell. 

 Robert was a Private in the U.S. Army during WWII and a Captain in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

 He graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine after attending Boston College and the University of Pennsylvania. He did his internship and residency at Worcester City Hospital. Dr. Kelly had a practice in Internal Medicine on Bellevue St until his retirement. In addition, he was an Instructor in Medicine at UMASS Medical School and physician for the Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing Program. He was a member of the Worcester District Medical Society, the Mass Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. He was on the staff of Worcester City Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital, Fairlawn Hospital, Hahnemann Hospital and the Worcester Memorial Hospital.

Robert is survived by his four children, sons Dr. Dennis F. Kelly and Robert F. Kelly, and daughters Theresa A. Kelly ( with whom he lived), and Margaret M.(Kelly) Zaccaro and her husband Paul N. Zaccaro.

Mass of Christian Burial and Internment are private. Donations may be made in his name to the Scholarship Fund for Boston College High School, 150 Morrissey Blvd, Boston,Ma. 02135-9934
