Edgar Grinnell Sr. passed away December 7th, 2010 in his home surrounded by his family after his battle with pancreatic cancer. Edgar leaves behind his wife Colleen Grinnell (n%C3%A9e McDonald), his sons, Byron Grinnell and Edgar Grinnell, Jr. and his fianc%C3%A9e Jessica Ritacco, all of Worcester, MA. He also leaves his mother Michelle Grinnell and stepbrother Joseph Grinnell of Presque Isle, ME.
Edgar is predeceased by his father Georges Joseph Drai of Paris, France and stepfather George Grinnell of Milford, Connecticut. Edgar emigrated from Paris, France with his mother in December of 1966 at the age of nine. He lived in Milford, Connecticut and went to Jonathan Law High School; he graduated from the University of Southern Connecticut with a BA in History.
Edgar met his wife Colleen on January 16th, 1981 and they married on May 27th of 1983. They moved to Massachusetts in 1986 and have been residents of Worcester since. What Edgar enjoyed most was watching his sons play soccer and hockey as they grew up and working in his garden with his wife. He was a season ticket holder of the New England Revolution since their inaugural season and an avid fan of Manchester United FC.
Edgar will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father and friend to all who knew him. A small private service will be held for immediate family. Friends are welcome to visit the Grinnell family at their home to pay their respects. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in Memory of Edgar.
