HOLDEN-Edward C. Colt, 84, of 114 Homestead Rd. died Sunday, April 11th. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Ruth A. (Frykholm) Colt; 2 sons, Robert E. husband of Annemarie Colt of Winchester and Peter C. husband of Caroline Colt of S. Deerfield; a brother, Charles M. Colt, Jr. of Southbury, CT; 5 grandchildren, Laura, Susan and Diana of Winchester and Justin and Jacqueline Colt of S. Deerfield several nieces and nephews. A sister, Elizabeth Stockwell predeceased him.
He was born in Brattleboro, VT son of Charles M. and Ruth (Hubbard) Colt and has lived in Holden for 50 years. He graduated from Brattleboro High School and the Bryant & Stratton School. He was a staff sergeant in the United States Army during WW II, serving at Guadalcanal and in the South Pacific. Mr. Colt was a senior underwriter and administrator for Paul Revere Life Insurance Company for 41 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of Chaffin Congregational Church.
The funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Edward C. Colt Memorial Fund, c/o Sovereign Bank, 100 Oliver St., Boston, MA 02110. LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester is directing arrangements.
