Edward O. Hult

AUBURN
Edward O. Hult, 90, of Auburn died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 3 .
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Dorothy M. (Rotters) Hult; a son, Robert E. Hult and his wife, Paula, of Harvard; a daughter, Janice L. Johnson and her husband, Francis, of North Truro; six grandchildren: Robert Hult, Jessica Fish, Anna Johnson, Melissa Sparks, Heidi Tatum, and Peter Hult; and three great-grandchildren. Edward was born in Worcester, son of Carl E. and Beda T. (Mostrom) Hult. He graduated from North High School and Becker College. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving as a 1st Sergeant in the European Theatre.
Edward was the executive vice-president of Lundquist Tool & Die Company where he was employed for 37 years, retiring in 1984. He was a lifelong and active member of the Quinsigamond United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir and several church committees. Edward was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Joel H. Prouty Lodge of Auburn. He was also active in the Town of Auburn. He served on the Permanent Municipal Building Committee, the Planning Board, and was a Town Representative in District 3. Edward also served as Auburn's representative on the school committee of the Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton.
With his wife, Edward enjoyed traveling, biking, spending summers in North Truro with his grandchildren at the beach, and watching sunsets at the end of each day.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 13, at 11 AM in Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St., Worcester. Burial will be private in Old Swedish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St., Worcester, 01607. LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester, is handling arrangements.
