Edward J. Ryan, 93, of Baltimore, MD, formerly of Cheney St. died Sunday, Oct. 24, His wife Hazel (Swift) Ryan died in 1983. He leaves two nieces, Ruth P. and her husband George Hays of Mt. Washington, MD and Eileen Ryan of Worcester. Also survived by many great nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of John J. and Catherine A. (Fitzgerald) Ryan. He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in the 26th Infantry Division and seeing action in the Battle of the Bulge and the European Theatre.
Edward worked as a custodian for South High School, for many years retiring several years ago, previously he worked at Becker Junior College. He was a former member of St. Peter's Church.
A Funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 30, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 9 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Friday, Nov. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Church, 929 Main St. Worcester, 01610. (faybrothers.com)
