Edward V. Seaver

AUBURN-Edward V. Seaver, 85, passed away Friday, May 10 in St. Vincent Hospital.

He leaves his wife of 63 years, Maureen M. (McCarthy) Seaver; four sons, David Seaver and his wife, Diana of Milton, Dennis Seaver and his wife, Lori of Worcester, Daniel Seaver of Worcester and Steven Seaver and his fiancé, Nicole Lavallee of Millbury; three grandsons, Jared, Edward “Eddie” and William “Billy”; two siblings, Austin Seaver of Grafton and Irene Astrella of Worcester and nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, the son of Austin George “Gig” and Eleanor (Pusateri) Seaver and graduated from Commerce High School and attended Worcester Junior College. He then proudly served in the US Navy.

Ed was an insurance broker for various companies throughout Massachusetts and eventually operated his own agency, Hospitality Benefit Specialist, before semi-retiring. He also was a Bartender at many establishments throughout the Worcester area and was affectionately known to his patrons as “Doc”.

He was a 32-degree Mason, a member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks and a New England Patriots season ticket holder for many years with his sons, and a loyal fan of all Boston sports teams. Ed loved to cook for his family and enjoyed playing softball, baseball and golf with his friends.

Visiting Hours are Tuesday, May 14 from 4 to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 15 at 11:30am in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
